    1. Re: Re: [TNOVERTO] Hayter 1850's
    2. I assume anyone researching the Hayter name probably knows this already, but a large family of Hayters out of the Cumberland region (Overton/Fentress counties) of Tennessee migrated to Nacogdoches Texas along about when some of my Campbells did in the 1830s and 1840s. They were some of the founding members of the Rock Springs Presbyterian Church NW of Nacogdoches Texas which claims to be the first protestant in Texas. Evan B. Campbell was also an early member of that church and was a brother to Rev. James Campbell whom I mentioned in an earlier post today. I have more info if anyone is interested. ----- Original Message ----- From: ladybug Sent: 8/25/2003 9:47:31 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [TNOVERTO] Hayter 1850's > I'm sure they did move to Il. - pretty sure it is my batch of > Hayter's...thanks - Gail > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Gary Norris" <[email protected]> > To: <[email protected]> > Sent: Sunday, August 24, 2003 10:21 PM > Subject: Re: [TNOVERTO] Hayter 1850's > > > > Polly Hayter (1788-1866) is the oldest Hayter buried at the John Vaughn > > Cemetery. 3. My bad. It was the Carlock family that moved to Illinois in the 1840's from Overton County. They were also an Alpine family. Gary D.
