    1. RE: [TNOVERTO] Oxendines
    2. Norris, Gary
    3. Lawanna, The person I talked to in the past said the Oxendines from connected in some way with the Lumbee tribe of the Carolinas. I thought I would pass this on as a tip. I don't know the truth of the matter. The Oxendines of Overton County must have had some slaves. One of the ex-slaves was buried at the Campground Cemetery in Overton County. I think his name was Levi as I remember. I do believe the master died down in Corinth, Mississippi from swamp fever if I remember correctly. Gary D. Norris -----Original Message----- From: leuwanna willams [SMTP:[email protected]] Sent: Wednesday, March 05, 2003 10:20 PM To: [email protected] Subject: RE: [TNOVERTO] Oxendines thank you. I have a large amount of info on the Oxendines, with Archibald, going back to 1818 or 1812 in Overton co, TN. I am trying to up some lose ends, before I spend very much more time on this line. Patsy J Exendine that m. James Harmon was suppose of been the daughter of Johnson Exendine, no documentation. And Johnson Exendine was married to Rebecca, which some family members say was Anderson, I believe that Rebecca was a McDonald from SC. I also don't have the documentation that Johnson was the son of Archibald. Do you have some places that I might search. May I ask who gave you the info. lawanna -----Original Message----- From: Gary Norris [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Wednesday, March 05, 2003 5:05 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [TNOVERTO] Oxendines Oxendines were descendants of the Lumbee Indians of the Carolinas?
