Gary, Thanks for that information. I have not found any clues to military service yet. I have seen no record of pension application from either William or his wife. There was a William M. CARR that enlisted from White county in 1st Battalion, Tennessee Infantry (Colms') and another that enlisted from Knoxville in the 9th Regiment, Tennessee Cavalry. I think that it is unlikely that Knoxville would be a possibility but White Co. while a short distance might be a stretch also. Thanks again Billy D.
