There were Austins who lived at a place called Hickory Flat. The Austin Cemetery is there today. However, there are no marked Austin graves there. I have heard my kin folks talk of Aunt Mary Austin. I think the oldest Austin in the area was a widow who raised two or three girls. Ruhama Austin married a Stout in my family. I never got to know this family very well in my researching because the marriages always seemed to end in an early death of the men. (No pun intended!) Also, all the children tended to be girls.
