Moses Fisk was an early settler to the Overton County area. He helped lay out towns and roads. A port at the junction of Obey and Cumberland Rivers was named after his daughter, Celina Fisk. Settlers leaving Celina, Tennessee took that name to Texas and bestowed it once again on a town, Celina Texas. Gary D. Even thought I don't have any of your lines, my Kirbys also ended up in Celina, Collin Co., TN. too. My grandfather, Eddie C. Kirby b. 1885 was the last of that line to be born in the Sparta, White Co., TN. area. The family left there when he was 6 mos. old. When first to Rule, Carroll Co., AR. (when other Kirby family members were) and then to Celina by 1900. I have a paper copy of a picture of the city of Celina, TX. showing alot of wagons and people standing around a light pole. My great-grandfather, Polk Davis Kirby is said to be standing near the light pole. I'm thinking this might be when electricity came to the town. Small World!! It seems alot of people from TN. came to TX.
