In the 25th Tennessee Infantry book the Orsborns are as follows: Franklin, Henry, William H. I also have a G. W. Osborn. I have George and John Webb. Here is my long list of Copelands: Andrew C., Andrew Jackson, Barnabas B., Frederick F. M., George A., George W., James Monroe, James Richardson, James S., Jefferson, John S., Joseph A., Joseph J., Josiah S., Mitchell, Phillip F., Silas, Solomon Addison, Solomon Francis, and Thomas B. The men in the 25th Infantry were primarily from the present area of Jackson, Overton, White, Putnam, Clay, Pickett, and Fentress Counties. The oldest soldier was approximately 81 while the youngest was only 12! There are 1,486 men that served in the unit during the Civil War. I have recorded the military record of each man from the files in Nashville and Washington, D. C. These are the military records that many genealogists buy for about $10 per soldier. I have also tried to show census information to confirm their place of residence and their immediate families before and after the war. I have the signatures of many of these men. These signatures were taken from their military records. Whenever, possible I have included pictures of the men or their tombstones. Some of the men have copies of their actual newspaper obituaries included. All of this is packed into a 568 page book that is fully indexed. Statistics are given for each company and the entire regiment. Letters to loved ones are included as well as a timeline for the regiment showing exactly where they were located during the war. Notations of medals for bravery are noted as well as pension papers. Find out the names of the 22 men who actually finished the war with the regiment at Appomattox, Virginia. Gary D.
