Heirs of JOHN D McGEE to JOEL T McGEE Fentress County Courthouse Warrenty Book F, page 161 "Whereas herefore, to-wit on the 13 th day of January, 1846, JOEL T McGEE and JOHN D McGEE purchased as partners, of JAMES H BEESON a tract if land of about fourteen hundred and fifty acres, lying on Fentress County...Civil District No 3, on the waters of Crooked Creek..Sifter hill..Taylor's Turnpike road..Falling Waters Branch. When the McGee's moved to Livingston they ran the Livingston Enterprise. One daughter, Callis McGee, was a basketball star at Livingston Academy in the 1930's. She played some college basketball and made a teacher. I think she married a Fivash from Kentucky. She is buried in Memorial Gardens or Good Hope in Livingston. Some of the other McGee's moved to Cookeville as I recall. I think they ran a newspaper there. Gary D.
