    2. This was in the Fentress Co Historical Society Newsletter. ARTEMA McGEE MILLER was my grgr-grandma. Heirs of JOHN D McGEE to JOEL T McGEE Fentress County Courthouse Warrenty Book F, page 161 "Whereas herefore, to-wit on the 13 th day of January, 1846, JOEL T McGEE and JOHN D McGEE purchased as partners, of JAMES H BEESON a tract if land of about fourteen hundred and fifty acres, lying on Fentress County...Civil District No 3, on the waters of Crooked Creek..Sifter hill..Taylor's Turnpike road..Falling Waters Branch. "And whereas said JOHN D McGEE shortly after purchase left the country and died in the army in Mexico, leaving said JOEL T McGEE to pay all the purchase money for said land: "And whereas a deed has been made to JOEL T McGEE and JOHN D McGEE by said BEESON for said land, having apparent legal title to a portion of land in us as heirs at law of said land: Now therefore, we, in consideration of the premises, and of one dollar unto us paid by said JOEL T McGEE , hereby transfer and convey unto the said JOEL T McGEE, the said tract of land for us and our heirs respectfully, this 4th day of August, 1852" Signed: ABNER MILLER ARTEMIA MILLER DAVID C TRAVIS MALISSA TRAVIS G.     3. When the McGee's moved to Livingston they ran the Livingston Enterprise. One daughter, Callis McGee, was a basketball star at Livingston Academy in the 1930's. She played some college basketball and made a teacher. I think she married a Fivash from Kentucky. She is buried in Memorial Gardens or Good Hope in Livingston. Some of the other McGee's moved to Cookeville as I recall. I think they ran a newspaper there. Gary D.
