    3. Hello Dale, Good to hear from a "Young" researcher. I am researching a Parker Young b. abt 1791 (TN?) according to 1850 Fentress Co., TN Census. However the problem with his birth place is that TN was not a state until 1793 from NC. He may have been born NC/ TN or KY since the Walker Line of KY/TN was never determined until a later date. Parker Young md Anna LNU b. 1795 VA. Thier son, John K Young was born 1816 in KY. Then by 1820 Parker Young is in Overton Co., TN in Poplar Cove & in Fentress Co., TN by 1826 on Mill Creek. 1830 Parker Young is residing on south side of Wolfe River. 1837 Parker Young purchased land on Wolfe River from BUCY YOUNG in Fentress County. Trying to identify his siblings and his parents. Is your Andrew Young or his brother Washington have any connection to Parker Young? Please do send me some info abt your Andrew Young; his birth date & place and parents and siblings and where all he resided. Thanks

    1. [TNOVERTO] Joshua Bernard Garrett Sr. b.1765 d. abt 1835 Overton County
    2. Donald Ayer
    3. Looking for descendants of Joshua Bernard Garrett Sr. b.1765 in Amelia County Virginia. I am particularly interested in his son Joseph Garrett b. aft 1783 and more specifically in the time after they moved from Virginia to Overton County Tennessee. I have seen information listing his wife as Juda. I feel there were two wives with different family’s over Joseph’s lifetime. There seems to be missing information on the 1820 census for Overton County. It shows two males under 10. Does anyone have any information as to who these two males are? I am finding circumstantial evidence that may point to one being named Stephen b. 1810 and the other could be Joseph Jr. b. 1814. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Regards, Don Ayer

    1. Re: [TNOVERTO] Ruby H. CRAIG obituary
    2. Vonnie: Good Morning.....Just seeing your name on this posting reminded me that you have been a great help to me in my effort to find the family of my ggrandfather, James Forrester Parrett/ott of Overton/Putnam counties inTN. I want to let you know that last year, as a birthday present, my brother did the Parrett/ott DNA test for me in the hopes of discovering this information. Well, shock, shock! His dna did not match a single Parrrett or Parrott, no matter how it was spelled, but did match 36/37 to Rev. John Wesley DOSS....Is it any wonder that I have found nothing!? I'm supposing his mother was a Parrett/ott but who knows. He never knew who his parents were or where he was born so I have absolutely nothing to work with. The administrator of the Doss dna site has worked with me and he has determined that John WesleyDoss does not match the many Doss dna tests either and believes he is an "opps" too. I have reached the conclusion that half the people in the united states probably don't have any idea who they REALLY are. The "poor man's pleasure" was rampant and the wagon trains were running up and down the hills and "hollers" so often, I guess you just picked a name you liked and went on to Texas! What a hoot! If you find any stray Dosses, think of me. For 84 yrs. I've thought I was a Parrett but it just goes to show that "Things ain't what they used to be".......Just thought you might find this interesting. Doris Parrett Williford </HTML>
