    3. I am looking for additional information on James H. Dickson and Margret Yates, who married 4 Mar 1848 in TN. The marriage ceremony was performed at the home of Squire A. Kimes. Since Abram/Abraham Kimes lived in Overton Co, TN and was a JP/Constable during the 1840'a, it is assumed the marriage took place in Overton Co., TN. The marriage was witnessed by William and Mary Yates. In the 1860 Census of DeWitt Co., IL, the James and Margret Dickson family includes Francis Yates, age 23 and Madison Yates, age 12, both born in TN. James H. Dickson B: 25 Dec 1829 in TN, D: 27 Jan 1886, DeWitt Co., IL - Parents Born in SC according to 1880 Census of DeWitt Co., IL Margret Yates B: 15 Nov 1829 in TN, D: 28 Mar 1899, in IL - Parents Born in TN according to 1880 Census of DeWitt Co., IL First child Mary Ann/Polly Dickson, B: 30 Mar 1850 in TN; Md Jackson B. Meliza 8 Oct 1871 in DeWitt Co., IL; D: 6 Jun 1915 in Oklahoma 8 additional children born to their union - all born in Illinois, including my own Grandmother, Harriet Ann Dickson Dillow. I won't take the space to list these children. My questions: (1) How is Margret Yates Dickson related to William and Mary Yates? (2) How is Margret Yates Dickson related to Francis and Madison Yates? (3) Who are the parents of James H. Dickson? (4) Who are the parents of Margret Yates? Can anyone provide me with additional information? Family tradition is that Margaret Yates Dickson is of Cherokee heritage. My search is for the parents of James H. Dickson and Margret Yates Dickson. I will be happy to share all the information I have on this family. Dorles (Dillow) Barber d.barber@mchsi.com

Lot's of old Stover graves are also located there but some of the stones are hard to read. There was a Parrott grave there also. I would also be interested in Lewis Stover's will. Stover (Nancy Jane b 1847; James, Lewis Sr.) Need: Maiden name of James' wife Flora b @ 1815 - prob Overton Co Grave of James' wife Flora Will of Lewis Sr. Grave of Lewis Sr. (I've heard Old Stover Cemetery, unmarked grave, but that makes no sense to me because that's way far from where he lived. My great grandfather is Amos Riley and he married Cyntha Winningham. My grandfather is Benjamin Riley, married Minnie Smith. Her grandparents were also from Overton County. My line of Rileys is: James Riley B. abt. 1751-1760 (70-79 in 1830 census) - we think in Virginia (reported by Robert Riley to be June 8, 1763.) D. abt .1833 (after will dated 1833) - in Overton County, TN Elizabeth Riley B. 1771 to 1780 (I lean toward 1780) (40-49 in 1830 census, 60-70 yrs old in 1840, not on 1850 census) My guess: 49 in 1830 and 60 in 1840 D. between 1840-1850 (before 1850 census) in Overton County, TN (Children) 1. Joseph Riley (abt. 1798) - age 52 in 1850 -- age 30-40 in 1840 born in N.C. (All the other children were born in TN) 2. Isaac Riley (??? Possibly around 1800 - 30-39 in 1830) 3. Daughter (perhaps Elizabeth) Riley ( ??? possibly around 1804 - 20-29 in 1830) 4. Daughter (?? - 15-19 in 1830) 5. John Riley (abt 1802 - 15-19 in 1830) 6. James Riley (?? - 15-19 in 1830) 7. Amos Riley (5 Sep 1821 - age 29 in 1850) 8. Thomas Riley (28 in 1850) I've been reading all of the notes looking for family and you sound so knowledgeable about the area, I thought I'd ask. Thanks in advance for any info you or anyone else might have. 3. My ggrandfather, Austin Curtis Brown was born in Overton County on 05 Aug 1820, the son of John S./Ann Brown. The only John S. Brown I can find in Overton County at that time was the son of Judge Benjamin Brown/Sarah Hawkins Sevier. Bob Brown
