I am getting the 25th Infantry books from the printer on November 1st. The book has 1,486 men from Overton, White, Putnam, Jackson, Clay, Pickett, and Fentress Counties. There are many pictures along with their military records, company and regimental statistics, pension records, census records, and newspaper clippings. I would say that it was Jamima and Rachel They were sisters. It could have been Ruth. She was either Jamima daughter are she might have been Mahala's If she was , Mahala was only 14 when she was born. There was some more that had children that never married. I was told the two women were the ones who had the children out of wedlock. They lived on the "banch" around the mountain between Raven Cliff and Highland. The cemetery had about 8-10 graves in it and was on the east side of the road in some small trees. Hey Gary, Thanks for the advice. I have talked with Paula and looked at a little of her info. She has great documentation. I know my line, I'm just looking for anything extra that I can put with it. Get to know all those dead ancestors alittle better. I did go to Cookeville Library today. Found some of the same things I already had. It was a good trip though.
