I have his name as Davis (not David) Blanford. (Davis is correct, as he named his son Junius Davis Blanford ) I know that Davis married a Sarah. about 1862 - 1865 and Lura and 1 or 2 other kids were born in Mississippi. Then the rest of the kids were born in Tennessee (I had assumed in Obion County. The 1880 Obion census lists the family and shows the wife to be "Sarah" (not Liz) But maybe her given name was "Sarah Elizabeth" Sounds about right, do you think? I can't figure how they were travelling in a covered wagon FROM EAST TENNESSEE.I had just assumed the kids shown on Obion census as born in TN were born in Obion, but now I wonder if Davis and Sarah actually lived in East Tennessee for a time. Sarah's parents were born in NC.Maybe if I knew from where the Morris's came from in that covered wagon with Davis and Sarah(?LIZ) Blanford it would clarify things. Do you know the a! nswer? Thanks, Gus Dugan (my wife is Ruth Blanford, daughter of June Blanford (Lura's brother) We don't know where in AR Davis and Sarah went to but think they both died a short time after going there. Don't know if their bodies were returned to Obion but do know Junius went back to Obion to help Lura raise all their little siblings. Hope to hear from you. Thanks.
