Vol 1. of the Obion County History Book is out of print. The last that I knew, the historical society still had copies of volume 2. This and other publications available from them are listed at http://www.rootsweb.com/~tnobion/library/hsociety.htm These are wonderful books, but they are not indexed ... I've had copies for a good while and only found my Jones until a few months ago ... it was hidden deep in a family by the name of "Word" that I never have suspected had any connection to us. I'm saying this to say that it's easy to do look-ups in these books if the family submitted a sketch ... but it's hard to find a "hidden" family ... you just have to luck across them. Also, the volumes contain many errors, both typo and data. This has been proven in my research of original records and by those of you who sent proof of errors. Nevertheless, they are valuable tools of research. I guess I'm saying, be cautious with any writings and make every effort to check the dates and names with official records ... and sometimes, they are wrong, too.
