    1. [TNOBION] Taylor Cemetery near Mt. Pelia
    2. The Taylors
    3. Hi all, long time. I'm back. Went back to lovely Weakley and Obion Counties, and found and checked out the Taylor Cemetery. Here is what I found for all you lovely people. If someone wants the check to see if all these people are in the Cemetery Book, you are welcome. I added a little info to fill out each person genealogically. (Is this permitted?) Had the very good luck, with a lot of digging, to find that William F. Taylor was a Lt. Colonel in the CSA and was in the 7th Tennessee Cavalry. With still more digging I found that there is a history of the Seventh Cavalry written by a Private in William's company. Lt. Colonel Taylor is mentioned 32 times in the book, and best of all, there is the first picture any of us has ever seen of him. My Father died not knowing about the CSA hero he was named for. Family feud? We shall probably never know. Persistence pays off, plus having people who know the Civil War history, like Randel Price at Ole Miss. He helped and encouraged me. I found William in the NARA records when they said there were none! I checked the original in the Memphis library. We found the cemetery grown up with weeds, and stones knocked down and broken (by cows). We cleaned up the cemetery and repaired the stones. A true labor of love. Keep digging - they may be out there after all. Some of Williams uncles and aunts are still lost in Stewart Co, and Mother and brothers and sisters lost in Obion. Bill Taylor of Virginia formerly of Martin Taylor Cemetery - located apx. ½ Mile South West of Cane Creek Cemetery, near Mt. Pelia, and in field North of McSpadden Road on private property, formerly Taylor Farm, now Turner. Alonzo. J. Taylor, MD, Sept 9, 1842 - Feb. 25, 1909 Fannie E. Taylor, Wife of Dr. A. J.
