Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at White & Mahon Funeral Home chapel in Troy, with the Rev. Judd Mowery officiating. Entombment will follow at Obion County Memorial Gardens near Union City. Friends may call at the chapel 6-8 this evening. Pallbearers will be Steve Huey, Jody Huey, Chad Huey, Horace Mathis, Dan Wallace, Brent Grimes, Billy Wayne Long and Dion Applewhite. Honorary pallbearers will be Lester Hailey and Jimmie Hart. The family requests that memorials be made to Troy United Methodist Church. He was born July 21, 1905, in Obion County, son of the late Will and Amanda (Miller) Huey. He was married to the former Zelma Wiles in 1955. She died in 1994. He was Troy's first chief of police and had been head mechanic for a Volkswagen dealership in Dyersburg. In later years, he had operated Huey's Taxi Co. in Troy. He was a member of Troy United Methodist Church. Survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Helen Huey of Nashville, and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.
