Graveside services were set for 2 p.m. today at East Side Cemetery, with Durston Dove officiating. Family members will serve as pallbearers. Mrs. Roper was born July 18, 1908, in Obion County, daughter of the late Lon and Octavia (Simpson) Barner. She was the widow of William Roper, who died in 1974. She was a retired employee of Bell South Phone Co., where she worked for 35 years, and was a member of Community Church of Christ in Union City and Telephone Pioneers. Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Bradford of Union City; a son, Jan Webber of Port Charlotte, Fla.; two granddaughters, Shawn Stryker of Punta Gorda, Fla., and Gina Wilde of Sebastopal, Calif.; a niece, Gayle Teeple; and three great-granddaughters.
