1:35:29 PM Monday, November 13, 2000 Henry Scobey Henry Clay Scobey, 93, of Trimble died Nov. 9, 2000, at Beverly Healthcare in Union City. He was the uncle of D.G. McElroy of Union City and of Cleamon and Iva May Pope of Trimble, all of whom had helped care for him. Services were set for 2:30 p.m. today at Johnson Funeral Home in Newbern, with burial to follow in Poplar Grove Cemetery in Newbern. The Rev. Waymon Hogue was to officiate. Pallbearers were to be Frank Cook, John Cook, Cleamon Pope, E.K. "Buck" Pope, Bobby Pope and Luby Fagan. He was a retired farmer and was a member of Trimble Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Davy and Minnie Ada Scobey; four sisters, Robbie Cook Jones, Annie McElroy, Flettie (Scobey) Jones and Pheoby Scobey; and four brothers, Paul Scobey, James Ira Scobey, Moody Scobey and D.B.
