Please forgive the intrusion of a test message -- for the past month I've been able to monitor the list by forwarded mail and respond privately, but have had difficulty in posting to the list itself. Talk about withdrawal pangs.... At least I'm now re-subscribed under my new address. If I have failed to respond to a lookup request, please do write to me again at the address below. The COLEs and CROCKETTs of Obion Co. are my direct lines. SIMMONS and WHEELER are collateral lines that I've also traced from Obion Co. through KS to central OK. The WARD surname ties in somehow but I'm still struggling to discover the details. For example: there is a John COLE living in southern Lincoln Co., Oklahoma Territory, in 1900, who wasborn in Arkansas to parents born in TN. I'd love to compare notes with someone who knows more about his family because I can't prove or disprove a link to my own COLE line. Supposedly, some of our COLEs did move to Arkansas from Obion Co., but we lost touch and I don't even know which of our unaccounted-for COLEs disappeared into Arkansas. Actually, I'm interested in ANY family from Obion Co. that ended up in Lincoln, Logan, or Oklahoma Counties of Oklahoma Territory. Pottawatomie County, which adjoins Lincoln and Oklahoma Counties, is also a possibility -- although I haven't yet found any Obion Co. families there. Sharon McAllister [email protected]
