Services will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with Dr. Bobby Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Antioch Cemetery near Hornbeak. Friends may call at the funeral home 1-2:30 p.m. Saturday. Pallbearers will be Jay Brown, Chris Brown, Mark Beachum, Douglas Beachum, J.C. Gilliland, Larry Kelly, Scott Skanes and Keith Tinnell. She was born Feb. 18, 1915, in Obion County, daughter of the late Daniel Chapman and Rosa Ann (Lee) Ransom. She was a retired nurse for the former Union City Clinic and the former Obion County General Hospital. She had been a member of Reelfoot Baptist Church before moving to Louisville, Ky. Survivors include her daughter, Melba Ruth Brown of Union City; her son, Gerald Douglas Beachum of Lugoff, S.C.; her sister, Artie Wallace of Sarasota, Fla.; eight grandchildren, Rebecca Tinnell, Jay Brown, Lisa Skanes, Wendy Gwinn and Tracy Brown, all of Louisville, Chris Brown of the Clayton community, Douglas Beachum of Columbia, S.C., and Mark Beachum of Aiken, S.C.; and seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Ollie Ransom and Rice Ransom; and her sister, Elsie Kelly. Taken From UC Messenger
