It sounds like this family should be listed in the 1900 census in TN. You can use the census soundex (index by soundex code) to find them. Golden is an unusual first name that should stand out. Just scan through all the Alexander families until you find one with a child named golden b. 3/1896. Then check for the same family in 1910 (but you have the father's first name so it's a little easier). You can make this easier by getting the name of her parents first. You can get her death certificate which should list the names of her parents. With her birth date, you can check the Social Security Death Index to find her date of death (most of those listed are after 1963). You can write to the Social Security Administration and request a copy of her SS-5 (Application for Social Security Number). The SS-5 is written in her own handwriting and lists the names of her parents including her mother's maiden name. You can check the cemetery where she is buried and ask for more information at their office. If you know or can find out the funeral home that handled her funeral, you can ask them for a copy of the family information sheet. That includes all of the information normally found in an obituary, parents names, spouse name, children's names, and it could include surviving brothers and sisters' names. Or you can look for an obituary if you have the date of death.
