Some of the names are similar. I have lots of gaps in my info for the early Hills. I know now that James Hill was the father of my James Harl Hill, b. 1804. A William Hill was the father of James. This was confirmed by records of land transactions. I believe my Hills are from the line of William Hill and Susanna Smithers. All evidence points in that direction, but I have no concrete proof.
