Even though I do recall having heard some of the names previously which you mention, I am unable to provide the kind of detail which you are searching for. As for the name Tom Bennett, yes I would say also that it sounds of English extraction. However, do not count on that as guaranteed because it was not uncommon for German people to Anglicize their names for a multritude of reasons. One of which, it was easier for other people to pronounce in a country where most everyone spoke English anyway.
