    1. [TNObion] Connection between William D. Jones (1836-1902) and William T. Jones (1856-1947)???
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Jones, Davis, Hancock, Crockett Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/TgB.2ACE/2206 Message Board Post: Well, I'm still on my "needle in a haystack" search for info on the ancestors of my gr-gr gf William Thomas Jones (1856-1947). My William was born in the 8th Civil District of Hickman County, TN. very close to the Humphreys Co. line. He was the son of Willis (or Willie) S. Jones (1831-cw) and Margaret Ann Knight (1833-after 1879) of Humphreys Co.. In 1876 my William moved by himself (from what I can tell) to the 10th Civil District of Obion Co. from Hickman Co. and later that year married Mary Louisa Davis daughter of William Penn Davis and Nancy Emeline Hancock. They lived in the Ebenezer/Cunningham Community northwest of Troy. When William and Mary married on Dec. 21, 1876, the Justice of the Peace who married them was William D. Jones. I believe this is the same William D. Jones (son of Jessee and Rebecca Jones of Humphreys Co.) who lived one family away from my William T. Jones in 1880. Is my William T. Jones kin to William D. Jones? Could William D. be an uncle or cousi! n of my William T., or is all of this coincidence? If they were kin, it would certaily explain my William's settling in this area at a young age. When my William married Mary Davis, Cave J. Crockett signed for bond. Was Cave Crockett related to Rebecca M. Crockett, William D. Jones' wife? All of these folks came from the Humphreys and Hickman Co. area of Middle Tennnessee and I can't help but think (actually hope!) that there is a kin connection of some sort between them. I am stuck at determining who the parents of my Willis S. Jones was, so I am checking any possible connection.... Any ideas or thoughts? Thanks! Dave
