If you think he lived in Obion Co., TN, you can find his parents by checking all households named Taylor in the 1860 census in Obion Co. It would be better if you found him in later censuses first (start with the most recent and work backwards). But there is a transcription of the 1860 (and 1850) censuses. I think it was done by Sistler. There's a copy in the National Archives in Washington DC, and probably in other branches of the National Archives, and in major genealogical libraries.
