TN. His mother was unwed and her name was Cora E. O'GUIN, daughter of Newton O'GUIN and Elizabeth Geurin/Guerin O'GUIN. Cora was born in Calloway Co. KY. Have info on the family from there forward but little info on Newton and on back. Cora married a widower, Jefferson Davis GORE, who had children by a prior marriage: Virginia and a son, Elzie, who married my father's divorced mother, Roxanne Lee MOORE BLANSET BRIDEGAN DICKS. Since Elzie and Harlan were stepbrothers, my parents were stepcousins. Would be interested in finding the O'GUIN link to the Old Sod. Mom went to Ireland and couldn't find anyone in Ireland with that name even in the old records. Could this be an adulteration of a Welsh name? Any thoughts would be appreciated.
