Posted on: Obion County, Tennessee, Obituaries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Tn/ObionObits/637 Surname: Reed, Work, Mathis, French, Nix, Smithson ------------------------- An 89 yr old retired farmer of Samburg vicinity, Bob Reed, died at the home of his son, Edd Reed, in the state of Michigan. He was brought to Samburg, the home of Oscar Reed, on 11/24/ 1951. The funeral was held at Antioch, with a preacher out of Rivervale, Ark., who was a member of the Church of Grace. Interment was in the Antioch Baptist Cemetery near Hornbeak. Mr Reed was a member of the General Baptist Church at Samburg, until that faith faded completely about 20 years ago. He never united with any other religious body until a few years ago, when he was making his home in Rivervale, Arkansas and united with The Church of Grace. Mr. Reed leaves 1 son, Mr Edd Reed; 2 step-daughters, Mrs. Mattie Work & Mrs. Denton Mathis both of Samburg and a host of relatives & friends. His death was not unexpected.
