Moffatt To Deed 11 A H.M Ramsey Registered September 15, 1856 District No 6 Know all men by these that on this the 2nd day of September 1856 I James S. Moffatt of the county of Obion and State of Tennessee have for and in consideration of the sum of four hundred dollars twoo hundred dollars to be paid the first day of January 1858 with twelve months interest to be added hereto and two hundred dollars payable the first day of January 1859 for the payment of what what the H.M. Ramsey had executed his ? several notes with security have bargained and sold and do by there presents bargain sell and convey unto the said H.M. Ramsey eleven acres of land in civil district No 6 of Obion County bounded as follows to wit. Beginning at a stake and an ash bush John Moffatts coener and runs thence north 6 degrees west 19 poles to a stake. Thence west 6 degrees south 26 poles to a stake then north 50 degrees west 7 poles to a large poplar in edge of the road from Troy to Trenton then west 6 degrees south sixty one poles to a stake with beech pointers then 6 degrees east twenty four poles to the south west corner of the tract out of which the eleven acres is taken then east 6 degrees snorth ninety one poles to the beginning containing eleven acres more or less to the said H.M. Ramsey and his heirs and assigns forever subject to an equitable lein for the payment of the purchase money and I the said James S. Moffatt for myself and my heirs and assigns covenant that we4 will warrant and forever defend the title to said land against the lawful claim or claims of all and every person or person whatsoever the said H.M. Ramsey to have possession the first day of January next witness my hand and seal the day and year above. Written James S. Moffatt Seal Attest J.J.
