    3. On the 1830 Obion County census, P. 155 Elizabeth Allen is listed as head of household with the following family; Males 5/10 = 2 Males 15/20=2 Females 5/10=1 Females 10/15=3 Females 15/20=1 Female 30/40=1 (Elizabeth) I next found Elizabeth on the 1844 Polk Co. MO Tax Assessors list. The last place I found her was in the 1850 Cedar County, MO census. Elizabeth (57 yrs) was living with John Allen. I have been searching for the parents and siblings of my gggrandfather, James Madison Allen, for quite some time. He was born someplace in TN in 1813 and died in Cedar Co. MO in 1851. I am hopeful that Elizabeth is his mother. Hopefully, someone has some information on Elizabeth and family that they will be willing to share. Thank you! Jim Allen in Oregon

Daughter of Francis (Frank) McDaniel and Carrie Rice. I have her McDaniel ancestry back to the 18th century. I am interested in more info on the Rice and Bramham lines, but I am most interested in information about her youth and family. Her mother's sister Fannie married her father's brother Hugh, and Fannie and Carrie's sister Bessie married Glover. I know these 3 family's were close, but, because my grandmother died so young, the connection was broken with my generation. I would like to re-establish communication with these family's to share information. Please email me. Regards, Lisa McDonald

Listed below is what I've compiled thus far. Any help into this Wood Family mystery is greatly appreciated. Z. T. Wood Married Eliza L. Coleman August 8th, 1869 in Obion, TN. (FamilySearch Record # M519592) 1870 Fed. Census record shows a Z. T. Wood with Eliza and two female children, Ella and Edwina(?). Obion Co. TN, district 9, page 15. 1880 Fed Census shows a J(Z) Tailor Wood with Eliza and two male children Ronney(?) and Pinkney. Obion Co. TN, district 111 pg. 32 1890 Fed Census was destroyed and I am certain that the answers I seek were there. 1900 Fed Census in Greene Co. AR (just over the border of Obion, TN and the panhandle of Missouri) shows Z. T. and Eliza near Paragould, AR with Grandson J. B. Wood. It lists Eliza as the mother of five children, but none of these children's names are shown. Only one name of the five is known to me and it may be mispronounced or misspelled, this name is Roman. Roman would be my Great, Great Grandfather. I need the names of Z.T.'s children. Please respond to both e-mail addresses depriv8@yahoo.com or conectadot@aol.com. Sincerely, Dorothy Wood.

I have been unable to find any hard copy information on birth, death, marriage etc of any of the Mathes clan beyond by grandfather. I have pictures of the tombstones of all of the Mathes,es back to William Thomas Mathes 1800-1875. Do you have any idea what the surname of his wife Elizabeth was? Where was he born? I have the Civil War files on his son John Thomas Mathes but can't pin down his place of birth or anything on his marriage to Carrie Parthenia Lykes They had at least seven (7) children that I have data on. She was from Obion County Tn. She was born between 1855 and 1866. She had an older brother named Harry and at least one other older sister. She named her first son Harry after her brother. Her oldest daughter was named Eliza and second daughter was named Myrtle. These would be likely names for either her sister or her mother. She also named one daughter Artie, one Jettie and one Farie. I don't know if these names came from the Holloways or from the Gettings side. Her husband, my Grandfather, was Samuel Rice Gettings, whom she married in 1886 in Caruthersville, Mo. If anyone has access to the 1870 and 1880 Obion census, Edna might be in there. Harry could be in both 1860, 1870 and 1880.. Any help would be greatly appreciated and I would sing in your wedding to repay you or not, if you heard me sing.
