I have his name as Davis (not David) Blanford. (Davis is correct, as he named his son Junius Davis Blanford ) I know that Davis married a Sarah. about 1862 - 1865 and Lura and 1 or 2 other kids were born in Mississippi. Then the rest of the kids were born in Tennessee (I had assumed in Obion County. The 1880 Obion census lists the family and shows the wife to be "Sarah" (not Liz) But maybe her given name was "Sarah Elizabeth" Sounds about right, do you think? I can't figure how they were travelling in a covered wagon FROM EAST TENNESSEE.I had just assumed the kids shown on Obion census as born in TN were born in Obion, but now I wonder if Davis and Sarah actually lived in East Tennessee for a time. Sarah's parents were born in NC.Maybe if I knew from where the Morris's came from in that covered wagon with Davis and Sarah(?LIZ) Blanford it would clarify things. Do you know the a! nswer? Thanks, Gus Dugan (my wife is Ruth Blanford, daughter of June Blanford (Lura's brother) We don't know where in AR Davis and Sarah went to but think they both died a short time after going there. Don't know if their bodies were returned to Obion but do know Junius went back to Obion to help Lura raise all their little siblings. Hope to hear from you. Thanks.

As far as I know there is no relationship other than residents/neighbors in Obion Co., Samuel owed Hague/Hogue money and was securing an extension on the terms so that Hague/Hogue would give him more time. As far as I can ascertain Samuel never owned any land just how he had an interest in Hopper's dower , or was it Hague's, I don't know.

Anyway, thanks for the info. Kathy

If you will e-mail me at NBBC@Showme.net, I will give you my address. Surnames: Blanford / Morris Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/TgB.2ACE/2253.1 Message Board Post: I can tell you some thing about Morris/Blanford etc. My wife is Ruth Blanford. Her father was June Blanford. June was Lura's brother. Davis Blanford was June's and Lura's father. I am at the library and don't recall all the names of Davis' other children but I have a copy of Obion county 1880 census showing them. Davis joined the CFA in arkansas in Sept 1861 Ark 17th Infantry Regiment. Was wounded a year later at Iuka, MS battle and captured. Prisoner exchange on a river boat near Vicksburg freed him from the yankees. Lura and 1 or 2 other kids were born in MS. several others were born after he moved to Obion County I'll send a copy of their census listing if you give your address and request it. Also had some contact with a Carol Wray whose mother in law is a Morris(forget her name but have it at home--also Carol's e-address) We met her mother in law's sister some years ago in Obion county. She has since died. Also I have a copy of a census sheet on H C Morris showing his! children's names. (don't recall the census year off hand) I understand Davis Blanford and his wife, Sarah went to Arkansas and took all the younger children with them, but not Lura. Lura was about 18 and probably married and stayed in Obion. But both Davis And Sarah died very shortly after going to Arkansas. Junius, I think, went back to TN to help Lura raise all the siblings. Junius later married Gracie Caldwell 10/30/1913 in Miss. County, AR. Let me hear from you. I am Pat Dugan
