I am looking for some information on my ancestors. My grandmother in particular. Her name was Maggie Henshaw/Hinshaw. I have two different places of her birth. One says Ridgely, TN the other says around Union City, TN. I do know when she was born it says in 1878. I know she married papa Joseph Oliver Cheek in 1896 in Lake County. I have been looking in Obion County Census for her and can't find her. I did find her in 1910 in the Missouri Census which is where I live. I was going to order the 1880 Census but I am afraid that she might be not be in the county I order. If there is anything you might be able to tell me that would help please let me know. I am not too familiar with computers and really don't know how to work the census files you have transferred. I hope I haven't inconvienced you. I would like to order the CD's you have but I am scared that i might get the wrong one. At one time they lived in Lane. The oldest boy was born near Union City in the 1900's. 3. -------- Original Message -------- Subject: {not a subscriber} Genealogy Date: Tue, 10 Oct 2000 08:36:49 -0700 From: [email protected] To: [email protected] Greetings! I'm researching my ancestors who once lived in Union City in Obion county. Following is their information. Maggie Dinwiddie married Drew Baxter in McLemoresville, TN about 1880-1890. At some point this couple moved to Union City. They had at least one child, daughter Cassie. Cassie married William Faulks/Fulks. William pastored at least two Presbyterian churches in Union City. This couple had at least one child, a girl named Minola. George Bigham was raised by Mag Baxter (the son of her deceased sister, Fanny New Bigham). The family story is that George remained in Union City until he moved to McLemoresville, TN to "put in a crop." I understand that George was Presbyterian prior to his attending Reedy Creek Baptist in McLemoresville. George Bigham remained in Carroll county until his 1942 death. My aunts attended the funerals of some of their Union City relatives. According to those aunts, our deceased relatives on George's side are buried in Union City, including his brother John Bigham. Researching - Baxter, Bigham, Dinwiddie, Faulks/Fulks, New surnames Is any of this familiar to anyone? Does anyone have information that they could share? Any leads or suggestions?
