    3. Bill, One statement you made about these viruses is not correct. You said don't open e-mails from people you don't know. The fact is, most viruses send themselves to everyone, one at a time, in your address book. The message could be from your best friend and they wouldn't even know they sent it. A note on trojan horse viruses, we once had one on our computer and apparently it was a "spy" that sent its originator any private information on your computer (passwords, credit card #'s etc.). For this reason we don't use credit cards or put private info like bank accounts on our computer. Norton did clean up the one we had. Generally you have to open an e-mail attachment to receive a virus. 2. The Taylors
    3. Hi All, Picked up a Virus from somewhere yesterday! It had no name and Norton's AntiVirus did not catch it, nor had they heard of it. A neighbor just told me that this was the second time he had heard of exactly the same thing happening. His friend said that that hard drive could not be saved and they had to buy a new one. I had downloaded new anitvirus programs a day before so was up to date- supposedly. The Virus made my computer screen go blue and said there was an error. The message was "Disk Write Error. Unable to write to disk in Drive C. Data or files may be lost. Press any key to continue." Hitting the key would get away from the blue screen, but it would come back in a minute or two. I could not save anything to the hard drive. It was "Locked" the same as you can do with a diskette, but this would not allow "Unlocking." I could download information to save it however! It would not let me format the hard drive either. I had to format my hard drive from the original disk and write 0's over all the informatin to make sure the virus was deleted. There was no warning of this virus, and no anti-virus warning message. Norton had not heard of it. Where I picked it up is a mystery. It took about 12 hours of frustration to undoo this. It is up and running again. Hackers are delighted by all this, why I will never know! Solution - I don't really know. Just don't open e-mail from people you don't know. Hard to do, I know. Get a good anti-virus program and keep it updated! Norton's said update at LEAST twice a month. Bill PS; A Trojan Horse Virus is a virus sent attached to a seemingly innocent message. When opened up it puts the Virus in your computer. Some Viruses change names every time you open a file, and attach to it. They also attach themselves to sent e-mail and spread from there.

    2. Debbie Jennings
    3. Searching for info on the following lineage of persons: Lasiter MATHIS born about 1820-1825 it is said he was born in Obion county TN. He is a full blood Cherokee and he married an unknown woman. They had the following known children: Tracy Tennessee born 10-26-1842 married John G. SHEPHERD 4-26-1859 in Carroll county TN. She died 1-14-1920 in Obion county TN. Elizabeth born about 1843 married John MORRIS we think in Cannon County TN but there are no traces of them. They had 8 children and lived close to the Rutherford/Cannon county line in TN. Frances F. America born 7-9-1845 married William Thomas CRAWFORD 12-29-1860 in Gibson county TN.She died 12-15-1926 in Obion county TN. All of these girls were born in Obion county TN. There is a short write up in the book "History of Obion County TN" stating they were orphans early in life and were raised in different homes. All three of the girls are noted to be 3/4 Cherokee so I am thinking the mother was also of some Cherokee blood. Although there has been info found on the two other girls, nothing can be found of Elizabeth. It is thought that this part of the line settled in and around the Wilson county TN area. Any help on this line is greatly appreciated and I am more then happy to share and work with anyone on this line. Debbie Jennings [email protected] "Following the footprints through time"
