    3. I don't know who to contact and hope this gets to the right place. I was checking the Zion cemetary and on the stone of Carl Bradshaw There are two other names on it. These are children of Dee Bradshaw my mother's brothers and sister. The stone took me four trips to find the three names for I was looking for three stones. The stone reads Nannie May 26, 1898-Sept. 3, 1899 J.K. Sept. 4, 1899-Nov. 12, 1901 Carl March 7, 1901-Nov. 19, 1901 Children of D. and Anna Bradshaw I only found the names after I dusted it with flour. Thanks Doris DeBord

    3. If you think he lived in Obion Co., TN, you can find his parents by checking all households named Taylor in the 1860 census in Obion Co. It would be better if you found him in later censuses first (start with the most recent and work backwards). But there is a transcription of the 1860 (and 1850) censuses. I think it was done by Sistler. There's a copy in the National Archives in Washington DC, and probably in other branches of the National Archives, and in major genealogical libraries. Maybe someone else on this list knows where to access these transcriptions. Sue On Mon, 15 Jan 2001 14:36:48 -0800 Andrea Callaway <[email protected]> writes: > Posted on: Obion Co. 3. My Gr-Gr-Grandfather, John Fox, was elected sheriff of Obion County in November 1862. He must have died in 1863 because his wife, Mary Martin, was remarried to Thomas Finley Fields by April 1864. Does anyone know anything about this time frame in Obion County? I am wondering if his death might have been from something other than natural causes. John was a blacksmith, and the family lived close to the town of Obion. Sandra Baither

    3. While we're on the subject of obtaining copies of SS-5s, can anyone tell me what an average time would be for the Social Security Admin. to process a request? I mailed a check to the SSA Oct. 24, 2000. They cashed it on Dec. 12. Should I be worried that my copy is lost in the mail somewhere, or do they usually take a while after cashing the check? Thanks, Marilyn

Tn Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Tn/Obion/1513 Surname: Tant, Ward ------------------------- My grandmother Hazel Louise Ward was supposedly born in Union City,Obion Co.,TN. Her Mother was Emma Tant Ward oldest daughter of William Henry Tant or "Taunt" as it was listed in the 1890 census and his wife Susan Eliz. Starkey. Emma was born in Rutherford Co.,TN but all her brothers and sisters are listed as being born in Obion Co. My grandmother was one of 4 surviving daughters Ruth,Grace,Hazel and Elizabeth. Her father's name is unclear some say William Ward others Lemuel Ward. This is a mystery that prevents me from tracing her paternal side.We have pictures of an adult male with William Westmoreland Ward on the back and a baby that says Johnny Westmorland Ward. The father and son died of malaria or yellow fever before 1910.I need to know if there are any birth records or christening records that could clarify some of this. By 1910 or so the family had totally migrated to Shelby Co.,Tn. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
