    1. [TNMORGAN] Oak Ridge pre-1942 CD-ROMs for Sections E and F Now Available

The Pellissippi Genealogical & Historical Society announces the release of Sections E and F of its CD-ROM series titled "Kingston Demolition Range Photos: Pre-1942 Home Places removed to build Oak Ridge, TN," according to the society's special projects committee chairman Donald Raby. Section E covers Scarbrough west to Edgemoor; Solway bridge, Kerr Hollow to Pine Ridge. Section F covers Gamble Valley north of Pine Ridge to East Fork Valley to Anderson County. To date, Sections A - F are available, with future plans for Sections G - M estimated for release next year. The CD-ROMs are available by mail order from The Pellissippi Genealogical & Historical Society, 118 South Hicks Street, Clinton, TN 37716, for $12 each, plus $2 shipping for 1 - 2 CDs. The CD-ROMs are also available at the gift shop of the American Museum of Science and Energy and from Mary Harris at the Anderson County Court House vault. Additional information on the CDs, including an index and a map of the sections can be obtained from the project's web site at http://home.att.net/~kingstondemolitionrange/index.html or from Don Raby at efraby@worldnet.att.net The Kingston Demolition Range project, sponsored by the Pellissippi Genealogical & Historical Society with a grant from BWXT Y-12, is a history project to preserve and distribute photographs and memories of the Oak Ridge area prior to the Top Secret Project. Many families were hastily removed without time to preserve memories. The PGHS has digitized photographs held by the Federal Government for 60 years and is making these photographs broadly available.
