Hi Veronica, I was doing some digging in the library today and I happened to look in the Justice file. Here is what I found,keep in mind that there was no documentation for this information.But it might give you a place to start.The information comes from a Jeffery Dale Justice born 1961 the son or Robert Lee Justice 1920-1989.Robert was the son of William Justice 1889-1963.William was the son of Squire Justice 1812-1894. Squire Justice's first wife was Rachell Asher.His second wife was Sarah Russell born 1815. His third wife was Catherine Jackson.The following children are listed as Squires By his first wife: Abraham born 1834 By his second wife 1.Leroy (mac) born 1855 died 1942 married Ester Unknown. 2. Marion 3. William born 8-10-1853 died 10-5-1947.He married Susan Walls married 10-18-1877.She was born 12-24-1861 and died 1-6-1924. 4. Andrew born Feb 13, 1858 and died 10-9-1945.He married Rebecca Dupee.She was born july of 1863 and died 7-11-1930. 5. Emily Jane born 1849. She married Joseph Jackson By his third wife: 1. Charlie married Haley Ann Russell 2. Loranza 3. Martha Ann married Andy Walls 4. Louisa married Richard (Dick) Norman. 5. Lena married Unknown Chatman. He lists the lineage of Squire as follows: Squire was the son of Abraham Justice 1790-between 1850-1860.Abraham was the son of Moses Justice 1760-??.Moses was the son of Moses Justice born 1735-??.Moses was the son of Peter Justice 1700-??.Peter was the son of Mounce Justice 1659-1749.Mounce was the son of Mounce Justice 1638-1692.Mounce was the son of John Gustafsson 1618-1693. At the bottom of the lineage page is written:Abraham was a full-blooded Cherokee. His wifes's name was Helela 1760-1860.Abraham's brother Dick Justice was a principal Cheif of the Cherokee Nation.(Dick would be my 3 Great Uncle) On a seperate sheet is written more information.I don't know who put this part in the file. Squire Justice married Sarah Russell 1 Nov 1844.He died 29 Jan 1904 and is buried in the Union Cem.Sarah died in Feb of 1861, she too is buried at the Union Cem. Mahala Justice married J. W. Webster.Emily J. married Joseph Hanson.Marion married Caroline Brummet.Squire married Martha Goddard on 4 Nov 1875.Martha Ann married Andrew Walls.Louisa M. married Richard Norman.Lorenzi married Bessie Cheek. Thanks for the info Cathy!!!! This does help, give me something to go by as I search for information on my Justice line. I will say this though, Squire and Sarah aren't buried in the Union Cemetery, Just in case anyone else searching this line reads this. As you've said before verification is important and this is a place to start. Squire is buried in the Justice family cemetery here in Coalfield out on Camp Rd. I spoke with Squire's Great grandson who told me Squire is buried there with his third wife Catherine, one of the great granddaughters and gggrandsons purchased headstones for Squire and Catherine, and for their son Joseph who is also buried there. Sarah Russell (his second wife) is buried in Oliver Springs (down in what I'm told they call "the cove" in a family cemetery which used to be in the middle of the woods but now if actually in someone's back yard. I am meeting with a cousin this weekend (Sunday if weather corporates) and he is taking me to the gravesite of Sarah, I will take pictures and will be happy to share with anyone who is interested. I will be going to Squire and Catherines gravesite as well, will have pictures of that as soon as I get to go, waiting on my uncle to go with me. I have been able to find lots of information on Squire's family with Catherine Jackson, but have had very little luck finding much about his family with Sarah Russell (THANK YOU FOR THE CENSUS RECORDS!!!!!!!) I've found nothing so far listing Sarah's parents. Would seem as if Sarah Russell is my Justice brick wall so to speak, and she's the one I'd love to know more about. I'm connected through Marion Justice, so I'm really interested in knowing about his mother. Anyway, Thanks again for all your help!!!! Georgeanne, thank you too!!!!
