PROUD WIFE OF TENNESSEE ARMY NATIONAL GUARD SGT. CURRENTLY ON TRAIN UP FOR DEPLOYMENT FOR KOSOVO. Hi Nancy, See, I had Ivory Hamby, Sr. as the son of Rueben also. I wasn't sure that Ivory Sr.'s son was the same I. F. Hamby that married Electa (on her tombstone it's Electie, but it was Electra). She was a sister to my gg-grandfather Samuel Jordan Cox. You probably had Eva an only child due to the fact that her sister Beatrice died at the age of 4.Beatrice and Electra both are buried in the Clear Creek Cemetery. The reason that I said that Eva had a lot of children with her husband, is that my aunt remembers her.Since Eva was raised by my ggg-grandparents, my aunt remembers talking to her and playing with her children. My aunt is the oldest of my grandparents children and was born in 1918.Eva was 22 years older than her,but she and her family spent a lot of time with my ggg and gg-grandparents.When Eva moved to Crossville, my aunt lost touch with her.She wasn't even sure when she died and she couldn't remember her husband's name. She did remember that they had a son named Ivory due to the fact that it was a name that had been passed down in the Hamby line for generations. I had Reubin as having a son named Ivory F. but I had him married to Sarah R. Unknown.Now. let me tell you what I have on these two .I have Ivory F. Hamby Sr. born 27 May 1820 in NC and died 2 July 1893 in Morgan Co.,TN.He is buried in the Hamby cemetery in Annadell.Sarah was born 9 Aug 1825 in KY and died 31 Dec 1883 in Morgan Co.,TN.She too is buried in the Hamby Cemetery in Annadell. They had 8 children:1)Elizabeth born 1842 in KY.2)Emily Catherine born 15 Jun 1844 in TN and died 14 Apr 1850 in Morgan Co.,TN.She is buried in the Elizabeth Cem.3)Adeline born 1845 in TN, 4) William born 1847 in KY and married Elizabeth Unknown.5)Joel born 1855 in TN,6)Amanda born 1857 in TN,7)James born 1861 in TN,8) Ivory F. Jr. born in 1868 in TN and married I assume now Electra Cox.All of the information on this family comes the 1850-1870 Morgan Co. Census records and the two cemeteries. So, due to the fact that none of these children match the children you listed (with the exception of an Ivory Jr.) we must be talking about different ppl. These would have been to old to have children born after 1870. See, why I stay confused with this and the Norris line?LOL They had their children around the same time and named them the same. They're almost as confusing as the Howards,Hawns and Potters.(And don't even get me started on the last two of those that insisted on only marrying each other) Thanks for the info, maybe between the two of us,and Glenna if she is lurking somewhere (LOL) we can figure this mess out. Let me know if any of these ppl look familiar, maybe there were more than two I. F. Hambys. Cathy
