The house that is known today as the Kelly House, was built by my 3-g granddad, Ezra Stonecipher, in 1814 and was in lived in by he and his family until it was purchased by James Martin Kelly, sometime in the 1830's. It is still owned by Mrs. J.D. McCartt and is overseen by the children. By contacting the family, we were able to tour the grounds last year as part of our Jones Family Gathering [Jeremiah Jones married Ezra's granddaughter, Louisa Stonecipher]. I think that going onto the property to visit the cemetery is not a problem - you just need to make them aware that you would be there. Jill, Was your Ezra Stonecipher married to Susan Curtis, son of Joseph M. Stonecipher and Salome? ?? Had a sister named Mahattie who married Abraham Justice? Mahattie was my 6great grandmother. I dont have much info on her siblings and I was hoping maybe we could exchange info if this is the same one. Thanks in advance!
