BARNES, MRS. LENA F. POTTER, age 79 of Lancing, passed away Monday, November 24, 2003 at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. She had lived in Dayton, Ohio for 50 years before returning to Lancing in 1999. She retired from General Motors and had served two terms as President of the VFW Ladies Auxillary, Post 5018 in Dayton, Oh. She was the youngest surviving child of the late Solomon and Cora Potter; also preceded in death by sisters, Lucy Brown, Bertha Potter, Eva Vespie, Virgie Highbaugh, Pearl Redding and Lorene Hines; Brothers, Owen, Cecil, and Walter Potter. She is survived by daughter, Carolyn Lyons of Pembroke Pines, Florida; Son, Barry Barnes; Sister, Ruby Byrge of Lancing; Brother, Charles Potter of Crossville; Seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; Numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends. The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 26, 2003 from 6-8 pm at Schubert Funeral Home in Wartburg. Funeral services will begin at 8 pm with Bro. Bill Durham officiating.
