Jack retired from Southern Railroad where he worked for 19 years and from Lockheed Martin's Y-12 plant after 25 years. He devoted the last years of his life caring for his wife, Margaret. You're forever in our hearts. By example you taught. With patience you guided. With gratitude you are loved. Preceded in death by: beloved wife of 62 years, Margaret Louise McKinney Brummette; parents, Frank and Blanche Brummette; brother, Frank Brummette, Jr.; Catherine Bailey. Sadly missed by: daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Ace Carroll of Knoxville; sons, Joe Brummette, Jr. of Lexington, KY and Larry Brummette of Clinton; grandchildren, Misty Brown and husband David, Jennifer Norwood, Stephanie Norwood, Sheri Kamel and husband Cyrus, Ric Brummette, Rusty Brummette, Chad Brummette and wife Camille, Ace John Carroll III and wife Heather, Brandon Carroll and wife Jenna, and Colton Carroll; 7 great- grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Stella and Mike Matice; sister, Betty Godbey; brother, William R. Brummette; brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles and Jo Ann Brummette, Robert and Evelyn Brummette. Funeral service 7:00 p.m. Friday at Stevens Chapel. Rev. John Thomerson officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 a.m. Saturday at Lynnhurst Cemetery for an 11:00 a.m. graveside service and interment. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Stevens Mortuary, Oglewood Avenue at Broadway. EMERT, DENNIS LEON - age 61 of Powell, passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2003 at Methodist Medical Center. Born November 3, 1942 in Anderson County. He was a member of Greenway Baptist Church. Preceded in death by: Fred & Dora Burnett Emert; sisters, Mildred & Dorothy Emert. Survivors: wife, Mae Emert of Powell; daughters, Lisa Bean & husband C.H. of Claxton, Rhonda Miller of Clinton; sister, Hazel Fortner & husband Ralph of Knoxville; granddaughter, Sarah Bean of Claxton; grandsons, Daniel Bean of Claxton, Michael & Christopher Miller of Clinton; several nieces & nephews. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, November 28, 2003 at Greenway Baptist Church with funeral services following with Rev. Darrell Griffis & Rev. Olen Keck officiating. The interment will be 11:00 a.m. at Bells Campground.
