    2. Hi, Ivory Hamby's father was John Hamby born about 1797 in Virginia. The Ivory Finley Hamby I referred to had a son also named Ivory Finley (Findley?) Hamby. The son was born in about 1868. Perhaps this is the one you mentioned. Ivory Finely also had a grandson Ivory Finley Brown, son of William Taylor Brown and Elizabeth Jane Hamby. Let me know if you want to exchange info. My e-mail address is becmacjo@aol.com Becky

    3. PROUD WIFE OF TENNESSEE ARMY NATIONAL GUARD SGT. CURRENTLY ON TRAIN UP FOR DEPLOYMENT FOR KOSOVO. Hi Becky, The Ivory Finley Hamby,Jr. could be the man that I am looking for.All I have on him is the initials I.F.,so it would fit.Do you have any information on him,i.e. birthdate, death date....He and Electra Cox were only married a short time, they were married 5 Oct 1893 in Morgan CO.TN.Electra died giving birth to their second daughter Eva, on 21 Sept 1896. After that, Eva was raised by her grandparents(my gg-grandparents) Martin Vanburn and Sarah Howard Cox.She married an unknown Smith and had a bunch of children, one of which was a son Ivory.I just assumed from the fact that her grandparents raised her, that her father had also died.He might not have though, he could have just left her with them.
