Crossville Chronicle obit... ROBERT HAMBY Robert Hamby, 65, of Rockwood, TN, passed away Nov. 3, 2000, in Methodist Medical Center, Oak Ridge, TN. Funeral services were conducted Nov. 5 from the chapel of Evans Mortuary in Rockwood, with the Rev. Larry Tilley officiating. Graveside services and interment were Nov. 6 in New Hope Cemetery. Mr. Hamby was born Sept. 6, 1935, in Morgan County, TN, the son of Edgar and Verna Hamby. He was a retired crane operator with Roane Electric Furnace with 28 years of service, and a member of the Post Oak Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Wanda Hamby of Rockwood; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Lonnie Moon of Rockwood; son and daughter-in-law, Anthony "Andy" and Carlena Hamby of Rockwood; brothers, Johnny Hamby, Clarence Hamby, Avis Hamby, Dale Hamby, Dudley Hamby and Billy Hamby, all of Crossville; sister, Irene Hamby of Crossville; mother-in-law, Ruby Wilson of Rockwood; four grandchildren, Carrie Capps, Kelly Vance, Zack Hamby and Kyle Hamby; step-grandchildren, Jenny Cornett and Jamie Moon; and step-great-grandchildren, Austin Moon and Karley Cornett. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Verna Hamby; a brother, Ernest Hamby; and a sister, Agnes Hamby. Evans Mortuary was in charge of the arrangements.
