From The Oak Ridger 12 Apr 2004 Berlin Sylvester Foust, 97, of Clinton, Joseph John Patrick, 92, of Oak Ridge, \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ Berlin Sylvester Foust, 97, of Clinton, died Wednesday, April 7, 2004, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. Mr. Foust was a member of Zion Baptist Church. He was a Clinton historian and his family said he enjoyed telling the history of Clinton. He was preceded in death by his wife, Esther Fraker Foust; a great-grandson, Charles Henry III; his parents, Charles and Ella Foust; his brother, Condy Foust; and by two sisters, Vera Taylor and Vivian Foust. Mr. Foust is survived by three children, Lucile Wright, Nina Hembree and Aude and Betty Foust, all of Clinton; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and by his sister, Margaret Foust, of Lake City. The funeral will be at 8 p.m. Friday, April 9, 2004, in the chapel of Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton with the Rev. Archie Nelson and the Rev. David White officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 10, at the Foust Family Cemetery on Island Ford Road in Lake City. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family requests that any memorials be in the form of contributions to Gideon's International, P.O. Box 536, Clinton, TN 37717. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Joseph John Patrick, 92, of Oak Ridge, died Thursday, April 8, 2004, at Windwood Health and Rehab Center in Clinton. Born Sept. 13, 1911, in Chicago, Ill., he was the son of Peter Petrik and Helen Skdra Petrik Sekan. Mr. Patrick retired from Rust Engineering, where he was an accountant. He was a member and past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, John Sekan, who raised him, and by two brothers, Andrew Sekan and Steve Sekan. Mr. Patrick is survived by his wife of 63 years, Bernadine Burling Patrick; five sons, John Patrick, Mark Patrick, and wife, Sandy, and Stephen Patrick, all of Oak Ridge, Michael Patrick and wife, Melody, of Phoenix, Ariz., and David Patrick, and wife, Cathy, of Memphis; and by two daughters, Pam Skinner and husband, Joe, of Loudon and Suzanne Herrin of Burlington, Ky. He is also survived by his brother, Peter Patrick and wife, Mary, of Flint, Mich.; two sisters, Margaret Wallo and Julia Gall and husband, Charles, all of Owosso, Mich.; his sister-in-law, Rose Sekan, of Chesaning, Mich.; and by eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 13, 2004, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. Michael Woods officiating. Burial will follow at Anderson Memorial Gardens on the Oliver Springs Highway in Clinton. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
