Veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Navy. Preceded in death by: wife, Della Zoe Miles and several siblings. Survivors: daughter, Linda Hall of Knoxville; son and daughter-in-law, Dave and Linda Miles of Waverly, TN; grandchildren, Lisa Hall Scarborough and Laura Blanock; great-grandchildren, Abby Nicholas, and Ella Zoe Blanock; sister, Ada Wright of Concord; several nieces and nephews; special friend, Richard E. PATTERSON, TRULA DARLENE HAMMONS - age 71 of Lake City, passed away Saturday, April 10, 2004 at the Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. Trula was born April 2, 1933 in Anderson County, Tennessee. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lake City. She was an active member of the Keen Club and a retired business woman of Lake City. Trula loved visiting residents of the Lake City Health Care Center, shopping and playing Rook. Trula was a loving wife and a fantastic mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is preceded in death by her mother, Dolly Lorene "Pete" Hammons; infant sister, Cuma Faye Hammons; cousin and friend, Brenda Carter Bristow. ERNEST TRUMAN "SHORTY" - age 87 of LaFollette, passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2004 at St. Mary's Hospice Center in Halls. He was of the Christian Faith and attended Calvary Baptist Church. He was a Master Mason of Stooksbury Lodge # 602 and a veteran of World War II. He is a retired worker of TVA after several years of service. Survivors: wife of 56 years Eva Burns Sharp of LaFollette; daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Jeff Breazeale of Maryville; sisters, Emma Halstead of LaFollette and Alma Baird of Jacksboro. She was preceded in death by: husbands, Tony Wallace and William (Bill) Ward; brother, Charlie McGhee; sister, Alice McGhee; parents, Howard and Rhoda McGhee. Funeral Services will be 8 pm Thursday, April 15 at the Lake View Baptist Church in Caryville with Pastor Roger Stanley officiating. Interment will be 12 noon Friday in Campbell Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 pm Thursday before funeral services at the Church. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
