Wagner, 62, of LaFollette Charles S. Wilson, age 76 of Caryville, \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ Rev. J.C. Alexander, age 81 of Oneida died Tuesday, April 20 at the Scott County Hospital. He was a member of the New Life Tabernacle and was an US Army Veteran of World War II. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, Joe Carter and Beulah Glazier Alexander. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Alexander of Oneida; sons, Joel N. Alexander of Newburn, Dwight Weldy and Phillip Weldy both of Oneida; daughters, Linda Stanley, Joyce Poteet, Vickie Hugueley all of Dyersburg, TN , Lin Clark of Clark Range; 17 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; brothers: Clifton and Hubert Alexander both of Dyersburg, Thomas and John Hershel Alexander both of AK, Arthur Alexander of Oneida; sisters: Ellen Patterson of Dyersburg, Ann Snow of AK, Rose Alexander of Memphis; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. April 22 at the First Apostolic Church of LaFollette with Rev. Bob Gray and Rev. David Akers officiating. Interment will follow in Baker's Forge Cemetery. Beloved wife of the late Clyde Baird, daughter of the late Lewis David and Ella Campbell Walden; sister of the late Lassie "Lat" Tackett and brothers, Fred and Paul Walden. Survivors include her children, Patsy Owens, Debbie Baird, George Onve "Pete", David, Fred, Clyde "Dub", James C. and Lester Lee Baird; 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; sister, Pauline Freeman; brother, Jack Walden. Funeral services were April 21 at Cross Funeral Home. Interment will be April 22 at 10 a.m. at Warren Memorial Garden in Elk Valley. David Dewayne Carpenter, age 60, of Siler, Ky died April 12 at Jellico Community Hospital. Survivors include his sons, David Dewayne Carpenter II, Dalton, Ga, Michael Carpenter, Virginia Beach, Va, Greg Ball, Williamsburg, Ky; daughter, Penny Carpenter, LaFollette; five grandchildren; brothers, James Walker, Mascot, Fl, Jefferey Weaver, Smithland, Ky; sister, Glenna Carpenter, Jellico. Visitation was April 14 at Harp Funeral Home Chapel. Harp Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Carl Dople, age 81 of Newcomb died April 16 at Methodist Medical Center. Survivors include his wife, Ann Dople, Cincinnati, Oh; sisters, Christine Moore and husband, Clarence, Newcomb, Ruth Perry, Jellico Creek, Ky; a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were April 18 at Harp Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Junior Dople officiating. Interment was in the Valley View Cemetery. Betty Jo Duncan, age 71 of the Dutch Valley Community died April 17 at her residence. She was born May 7, 1932 in Anderson County to the late Hugh and Georgia McWane. She was of the Methodist Faith. She loved gardening and her pets. Preceded in death by her husband, James Harding Duncan, Sr.; son, Thomas Allen Duncan; sister, Jean Sharp. Survivors include her children, Mary Elizabeth Cook and husband, David, Clinton, James Harding Duncan, Jr., and wife Cindy, McCreary Co., Ky, Kathy Gail Cadd and husband, Gary, Murray, Ky, Deborah Seiber and husband, Greg, Lynchburg, Bill Duncan and Elaine Graham, Oak Ridge, George Duncan, Clinton; grandchildren, Adam Cook, Adrienne Cook, Sarah Catherine Owens, Adam West, Aaren Cadd, Jordan Duncan, Shara Nicole Duncan and Kristen Seiber; brother-in-law, Buddy Sharp, LaFollette. Hensley, Pastor of LaFollette United Methodist Church. Funeral services were April 20 at Kiser Funeral Home Chapel in Greenville. Interment was in the Meadow Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Greenville. Kiser Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Farley Phillips, Jr., age 74 of Lake City died April 12 at the James A. Quillen Veterans Hospital in Johnson City. He was born August 24, 1929 in Monterey to the late Farley Sr. and Birtie Looper Phillips. He was a member of the Island Ford Baptist Church for 60 years. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 7262 Greenville, Oh. Preceded in death by his parents, Farley Sr. and Birtie Looper Phillips; brothers, A.J., Buster, Arthur D., Lilburn and Carl Phillips; sisters, Myrtle Sanders, Hazel Chanders, Leva Strongs and Learlene Ray. Cleta Seiber, age 50 of Lake City died April 15 at the Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. She was born June 13, 1953 in Anderson County to the late Claude and Annie Phillips Foust. She was of the Baptist faith. She loved spending time with her son. Preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Annie Phillips Foust; half-brothers, Woodrow Foust; half-sister, Helen. Survivors include her son, Zachary Lee Seiber, Lake City; brother, Leon Foust and wife, Sandra, Clinton; nephew, Ricky Foust, Marlow. Funeral services were April 17 at Hatmaker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gerald Hatmaker and Rev. Lee Phillips officiating. Interment was in the Foust cemetery. Hatmaker Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Ernest Truman "Shorty" Sharp, age 87 of LaFollette died April 13 at St. Mary's Hospice Center in Halls. He was of the Christian Faith and attended Calvary Baptist Church. He was a Master Mason of Stooksbury Lodge # 602 and a veteran of World War II. He is a retired worker of TVA after several years of service. Survivors include his wife of 56 years Eva Burns Sharp of LaFollette; daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Jeff Breazeale of Maryville; sisters, Emma Halstead of LaFollette and Alma Baird of Jacksboro; several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.Funeral Services were April 15 at Walters Chapel with Rev. Danny Wilson and Rev. Sonny Longmire officiating. Interment was in Bakers Forge Cemetery. Full Military Honors were conducted by the Campbell County Military Honor Guard. Walters Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Anna L. Wagner, 62, of LaFollette passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2004, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Knoxville. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her son, James Michael Gwinner. Survivors include her husband, Gerald P. Wagner of LaFollette; three sons, Robert Swinner of Independence, Ky., Todd Edward Gwinner of Morrow, Ohio, and John Thomas Gwinner of Middletown, Ohio; eight grandchildren, one brother, Michael Newsome of Cincinnati and several other relatives and friends.Funeral Mass will be Friday at 1 p.m. at The Gate of Heaven Cemetery Chapel in Montgomery, Ohio, with Father Guntzelman officiating, with interment to follow. He was a member of Red Ash Baptist Church. He was retired from GM Truck Group of Dayton, OH. Mr. Wilson was a US Army Aircorp veteran of WW2 and a lifetime member of the NRA.
