Alexander, 84, of Oak Ridge, \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ Hansford Harold Osborne, 81, died Monday, April 19, 2004, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge, due to complications of congestive heart failure. orn Jan. 22,1923, in Jonesville, Va., he was the son of Eula and Ora Osborne. A veteran of the U.S. Army in World War II, Mr. Osborne served in the 616th Field Artillery Battalion of the 10th Mountain Division from 1940 until honorable discharge at the rank of 1st sergeant at war end in 1945. While in training at Camp Hale, Colo., he met Emma Redmond, of Leadville. They were later married in May 1944. He retired in 1985, after 40 years employment with Union Carbide Corp. in the Finance and Materials Department, at Paducah, Ky., and, since 1970, as chief purchasing agent at Oak Ridge. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two infant sons, Ronald Dean and Hansford Harold Jr.; a sister, Betty Sue Stanley, of Salem, Ind.; and by his wife of 53 years, Emma Jean. Mr. Osborne is survived by his daughter, Donna Jean Livingston and husband, David, of Grand Junction, Colo.; his granddaughter, Heather Livingston, of Grand Junction; his son, Steven Osborne, of Oak Ridge; two sisters, Rita Servoss and husband, Larry, of Greeneville and Nathetta Pendergraft of Pennington Gap, Va.; two brothers, Bill Mullins and wife, Renee, of Oak Ridge and Donald Parsons of Johnson City; and by several nieces, cousins and extended family members. Mr. Osborne was a participant in the Vanderbilt University Ultimate Gift Program. The body has been donated to the medical school in Nashville for teaching and research study. The family requests that any memorials be in the form of donations to the Agape Help Center, c/o First Baptist Church, 1101 Oak Ridge Turnpike, Oak Ridge, TN 37830. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, April 24, 2004, at Weatherford Mortuary. A brief memorial service will follow with the Rev. Dr. Larry Dipboye officiating. Mr. Patterson was a retired painter and his family said he enjoyed hunting and fishig. He was preceded in death by his parents, Terrell and Nellie Patterson, and by four brothers and sisters, Tom, Sam, Mona and Jolanda. Mr. Patterson is survived by his children, Lisa Watson of Oak Ridge, James Patterson Jr. of Harriman and Benjamin Patterson of Oak Ridge; seven grandchildren, James Patterson III, Kalen Patterson, Alex Patterson, Krystal Patterson, Katlyn Patterson, Kassandra Watson and Tiffany Patterson; special friend, Jean Pope and her family of Karns; and by his former wife and mother of his children, Ora Mae Patterson, of Oak Ridge. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 24, 2004, at Schubert Funeral Home in Wartburg with Don Long officiating. Burial will be at Union Cemetery. The family requests that any memorials be in the form of contributions to St. Mary's Hospice, 7447 Andersonville Pike, Knoxville, TN 37938. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
