    2. >From the Knoxville News Sentinel 1 Feb 2004 BRUMMETT, RICHARD "RICK" - age 41, of Clinton, HALBURNT, JOSEPH LEE - 98, of Alcoa, Tennessee \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ BRUMMETT, RICHARD "RICK" - age 41, of Clinton, passed away Friday, January 30, 2004 at Methodist Medical Center. Preceded in death by mother, Leona Brummett. Survivors: wife, Annette Brummett of Clinton; son, Cody Brummett of Clinton; father, George Brummett of Clinton; sisters, Teresa & husband Wallace Mosley of Clinton, Judy & husband Virgel Wallace of Clinton, Charlotte & husband Bryan Johnson of Claxton; brothers, Johnny & wife Tammy Brummett of Clinton, Thomas & wife Charlene Brummett of Clinton; several nieces & nephews. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 PM, Monday, February 2, 2004 at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home with funeral services following in the chapel with Rev. Bobby Sharp, Rev. Larry Sharp & Rev. Tony York officiating. The interment will be held 2:00 PM, Tuesday at Woodhaven Memorial Garden. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton in charge of all arrangements. HALBURNT, JOSEPH LEE - 98, of Alcoa, Tennessee passed away at 6:12 PM Thursday, January 29, 2004 at Maryville Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. Mr. Halburnt was born on February 4, 1905 in Oliver Springs, Tennessee, the son of Robert L. and Gertrude Halburnt. He and his wife Eunice, who preceded him in death in 1999 after 62 years of marriage, both were members of Armona Baptist Church of Alcoa. Mr. Halburnt previously served his church as a Deacon, Sunday school teacher and as a member of the choir. Mr. Halburnt worked for both the old Knoxville Journal and the Knoxville News Sentinel from which he retired in 1969. He rose to foreman of the composing room at the Knoxville Journal and retired as a printer in the composing room of the Knoxville News Sentinel. He was a well know sportsman in his prime. He wrote a fishing column while at the Journal called "Hook, Line & Sinker". He later changed the name of his column to "The Old Colonel". Both papers carried his columns. He wrote about fishing, hunting and other outdoor sports. In the 1940's he left the Journal and began editing and publishing an outdoor magazine entitled, at first "The Tennessee Valley Sportsman" but later changed to encompass the entire South as "The Dixie Sportsman". Mr. Halburnt is survived by his son Joe Jr. and his wife Judy of Evansville, Indiana; two sisters, Robbie Coleman of Lenoir City, Tennessee and Edna Whitson of Birmingham, Alabama; brother- in-law Richard Foster of Knoxville, TN; three grandchildren, Joe III of Edwards, Colorado, Julie Hawkins of Bowling Green, Kentucky and Jinx Halburnt of Evansville, Indiana; also three great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be 11 am Monday at Lynnhurst- Greenwood Chapel with Rev. Robert Lawson officiating. Interment will follow at Lynnhurst Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Armona Baptist Church 2211 Louisville Rd. Alcoa, TN 37919 or Barbara Keating Gardens 3930 Kingston Pike Knoxville, TN 37919. The family will receive friends from 10-11 am Monday before the service at the Lynnhurst-Greenwood Chapel of Berry Funeral Home 2300 W.
