PROUD WIFE OF TENNESSEE ARMY NATIONAL GUARD SGT. CURRENTLY IN KOSOVO!!!! Hi Georgeanne, First to Sandra, no Nancy did indeed marry Joseph McPeters not a Peters.I am researching the Peters line.My hubby descends from Tobias and Elizabeth Rachel Scarborough Peters. Now, Georgeanne, Temperance's birthdate is 17 Feb 1763, or so she stated in her pension application. She and Asel were married 21 Mar 1782 in Rowan Co.,NC. She died 19 Aug 1853 in Scott Co.,TN.Asel died 18 Oct 1818 in Wilkes Co.,NC. As for Sarah Sally Cross, the sister of Nancy, she married Henry Hamby on 29 Nov 1810.They both signed and testified for Temperance's pension application.Temperance also lived with them for several years, after Asel's death. She is in their home on the 1840 Morgan Co.,TN census. She stated in her testimony on her mother's pension application that she was the fourth child of Aseal and Temperance Cross. In her sister Rebecca's testimony she stated that Sarah was six years younger than she was.She stated that she was the oldest child of Asel and Temperance.Rebecca was born 2 May 1783 and married John Holdway on 14 Nov 1805.So, I don't know who the Sarah that you are talking about is, it could be that she was a McPeters and not a Cross. I don't have the complete pension file.I have Asel's will, and the inventory of his estate. It lists only five surviving children,Rebecca Holdway,Sarah Hamby,Nancy McPeters,Fanny Dickson, and A. H. Cross (my hubby's line). There was another male child that died young. He was on the 1790 Rowan Co.,NC.He wasn't on the 1800. Let me know if you need anything else. Cathy
