>From The Knoxville News Sentinel 12 Feb 2004 CLAYTON, CAROLYN LINDSAY - age 61, of Oak Ridge, McFARLAND, GERTRUDE CARR - formerly of Clinton TN \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ CLAYTON, CAROLYN LINDSAY - age 61, of Oak Ridge, died February 11, 2004 at NHC Health Care Center of Oak Ridge. Proceeded in death by: parents, William T. (Dink) and Thelma Jones Lindsay; brothers, Jimmie Thurman, Jerry Lynn and David Orn Lindsay. Carolyn is survived by: her husband, Frank D. Clayton; daughter, Catrina Clayton Lozano; son, Frank L. (Kip) Clayton and his wife Suzie; and grandchildren, Caitlin Lauren Clayton, Roman Delano Lozano and David Omar Lozano; brothers, Paris (Mack) Lindsay and wife JoAnne, Richard William Lindsay and wife Judy. A devoted wife and mother, Carolyn was born in Caryville, TN April 15, 1942. Carolyn was a woman of many talents, a gifted pianist and singer. She was an outstanding Basketball Player at Lake City High School. She had a very successful career as a secretary. She owned and operated four businesses, at the present time she was President and CEO of CRD, Inc., Claytons Business Assistance, one of the first temporary services in Oak Ridge, Claytons Couturiere where she designed and made original creations, and Baldys Barbecue Restaurant. She won the Miss Anderson County Beauty Pageant in 1960, placed third in the Miss Tennessee Pageant in 1960 and First runner up in the Miss Oak Ridge Beauty Contest in 1961. Winning the talent and swim suit competition in this contest. Funeral services will be Friday February 13, 2004 at 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Martin Oak Ridge funeral home with Rev. Tom Byrge and Rev. Hollis Whitaker. Interment will be private, family only. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Friday at the funeral home. Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home is in charge. McFARLAND, GERTRUDE CARR - formerly of Clinton TN passed on 2-10-04 in Mustang, OK having recently moved there from California where she and her family had resided since leaving Clinton in 1961. Preceded in death by parents Ezra and Anna Carr; brother Sherman Carr. Survivors, son Don McFarland and wife Barbara of Rapid City South Dakota; daughter Carol Sue and husband Scott Russell of Mustang OK.; 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; brother S.O.
