Hi all, "The Stonecipher Tree" by Mary Howe UNDERWOOD mentions a family bible record including HALLs, which also included a DOB for John DUNCAN (6 Mar 1783) who had married Elizabeth STONECIPHER (dau of Ezra and Susannah CURTIS). In my own research, I found that John DUNCAN died in Aug 1840 (source: Civil War "mother's" pension file for Elizabeth STONECIPHER DUNCAN filed for her son, Ezra DUNCAN). From the Underwood book, pp. 32-33: "These names were copied from a bible at the home of Mrs. John Fred Stewart which had a record of the Hall family. Elizabeth must have been a second wife . . . . . . John Duncan probably married a Hall girl first." (Lee Cross notes) This book was published 1984 and had included in the research some notes from Lee CROSS - the bible record mentioned was apparently from Lee CROSS' notes. Does anyone know of this bible and it's current location? If not, does anyone know if Mr. Cross' original notes are located at the Wartburg library? And if so - where are they located - in the vertical files? Somewhere else? Is anyone else researching John DUNCAN and Elizabeth STONECIPHER? If so - do you know which HALL John married first? TIA!
