    1. [TNMORGAN] Coal Mining
    2. Hi List: I am looking for the name of a coal mining company in Petros during the late 1890s and early 1900s. My great grandfather worked there and I would like to add the name of the company to my info. I sure hope there wasn't more than one in Petros! Thanks. 3. Hi Denise, My great grandfather, Bill Williams worked for a coal mining company at that time also but I am not sure if it was in Petros. I have had difficulty finding much info about him. His death cert says he was a retired coal miner, he died "of exhaustion from a broken spine" in 1913 in Oakdale. He had been under the care of a Dr. from Petros for 3 years, so I thought maybe a mining accident ? so thanks for asking your question maybe I will learn something too! Have your seen the Petros photos It looks to be a "company town" Big Brushy Coal and Coke is what it says on the photo, maybe there is more info somewhere because I think I read an article about the mines in Petros on-line somewhere. Good luck, Bev
