    2. >From The Knoxville News Sentinel 10 Feb 2004 JOHNSON, JUANITA HUMPHREY age 73 of Clinton, WALTERS, MARY HAZEL - \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ JOHNSON, JUANITA HUMPHREY age 73 of Clinton, passed away Saturday February 7, 2004 at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. Member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Heiskell. She enjoyed cooking and sewing. Preceded in death by: parents: Alvis and Alice Humphrey, infant son, Mayford Lynn Johnson and son, James Carlos Johnson, brothers: Hubert, Hobert and Ray Humphrey. Survivors: husband of 57 years, James Conrad Johnson, daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and Harvey Finch of Clinton; daughter-in-law, Gertie Johnson of Clinton; 5 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren; brother, Gerald Humphrey of Knoxville; sisters-in-law, Imogene Humphrey Hamilton of Clinton, Lorene Humphrey of Powell and Genevieve Humphrey of Fountain City; and many friends; special friends, Dorris Pace and Carolyn Humphrey. Service 8 p.m. Wednesday Mynatt Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Roy Hammock and Rev. James Hammock officiating. Family and friends will meet 10:45 a.m. Thursday at Mt. Olive Cemetery for interment service at 11:00 a.m. Family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Mynatt Funeral Home. WALTERS, MARY HAZEL - died Sunday February 8, 2004 at her Knoxville home. She was the wife of the late Thomas Kelly Walters, Jr. She and her family resided ten years in Oak Ridge and later Syracuse, NY and Tulsa, OK before moving to Knoxville. She had a talent for music and in the forties & early fifties, she helped the late Rev. Dr. K.B. Combs (a Baptist moderator) as he established 3-4 churches in Oak Ridge, Calvary Baptist & Central Baptist being two of them. Mrs. Walters was associate teacher and pianist in many churches until Lupus took control. She retired because she said, "a church needs someone they can depend on." She was a member of Wallace Memorial Baptist Church and also a "bone- fide" member of St. Matthew's Church in Tulsa (an honor bestowed by the church). She had a "Magnum Cum Lauda" degree in Motherhood bestowed by her children. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by: two children, Cheryl Anne Witt and infant son, John Quenton Walters. She is survived by: son & daughter-in-law, Richard & Daphne Walters of Marietta, GA; daughter, Margaret Kelly Norman; daughter & son-in-law, Jennifer and Gary Coburn all of Powell; grandchildren, Brian Coburn, Gregory Norman, Natalie Clabough, & Erin Elizabeth Walters; and one great grandson, Wesley Clabough. Funeral service 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel. Interment will follow at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Assoc., 4708 Papermill Dr., Knoxville, TN 37909.
