    3. Hi Judy You probably have all this, but here goes.... My notes show: From the book "Descendants of Johannes Steinseiffer" by H.S. Stonecipher: "Samuel C. Stonecipher died May 10, 1863, age 33 at Zollicoffer, TN, while a solder in the Confederate Army He married Mary Jane Cromwell, 12-8-1853. She was b 11-21-1833, d at Crooked Fork, TN, 2-18-1883 of tuberculosis. There were 3 children: Adaline Stonecipher, b 2-5-1855, at Crooked Fork, TN., d 4-6-1925, age 70 of pneumonia at Covington, KY. Buried in Highland Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, KY. (Lot 307, Sec. 17) She married Doctor Melvin McCartt in 1873 ("Doctor" not a title, but a given name) They had 3 children: --Samuel Henry McCartt --Delia Ellen McCartt --One son-not named. He was the second child of Adeline. Place and date of birth not now known. Lived only 3 days." The above was from the Steinseiffer book. There is more info on the children and g-children if you need it. I haven't seen any notations anywhere showing the Mary Jane remarried. In the 1880 census for Morgan Co., she is head of house, with her sister Henrietta, age 18, living with her, as well as Adeline McCartt, age 25 and children Samuel and Dely. Don't have later census. Any idea when she appears in KY?? -- I have an email from Edna "Pansy" Ward dated 1999, stating that "Adeline m Doctor Melvin McCartt in Morgan Co., TN. Doctor Melvin then married Barbara Hall. He and Adeline divorced and had two children, Doc was s/o Preston and Leah Racheal Stepp McCartt." {Pansy, can you help on this one? Do you know anything about Barbara Hall?] Julie jgooch1@juno.com wrote: >Does anyone know if Mary Jane Cromwell b 1833 d 1883 d/o Hirma and >Henrietta Stonecipher remarried after her husband Cleveland/Samuel C. >Stonepher died? >Also I live in Northern KY and their daughter Adeline b 1855 died here in >the area . 3. I will look up some of the notes I have on this marriage. I am thinking 'Doctor' McCARTT left Adeline and m. Barbara HALL. Reasons were given but I will have to look that up. 3. Julie and Judy, I found Adeline Stonecipher in 1910 Census. Her daughter Delia married David Williams and they have 2 children. Hershell 10 yrs old and Eunice who was 08 yrs old. Adeline was living with them and says she is a Widow. 55 yrs old and a dressmaker and M-I-L all born in TN. Found this in District 2.
